Discussion

High pressure finally settles into the Mid-Atlantic region after several unsettled days and it will bring us plenty of mid-week sunshine along with warm conditions. The high then shifts off the coast on Thursday and this will open the door for more inclement weather here as a frontal system will approach the region from the west. Showers and thunderstorms are possible once again later on Thursday and again on the day Friday and it appears as if another inch or more of new rainfall is possible by the time the early part of the weekend rolls around. The weekend itself actually is looking pretty decent with some sunshine probable on both days although an isolated shower cannot be ruled out for Saturday. Sunday night and Monday could bring a few more showers and storms as another frontal system approaches from the west. Elsewhere, the tropics are acting up as we slowly approach the usual peak time of the tropical season and a couple different waves of low pressure will have to be monitored over the next several days.
