10:40 AM | Snow bands headed for the DC metro region during the mid-day hours

Paul Dorian

Discussion

Snow bands dropping southeast from south-central PA will affect parts of the region during the mid-day hours. The best chance for these bands will be north and west of the District during the mid-day time period (11:00AM - 1:00PM). These snow bands could quickly whiten the ground and, with temperatures below freezing in most spots, slick spots can quickly develop on the roads. The chance for snow showers will continue for the rest of the day and winds will gust past 30 mph as temperatures struggle to rise above 30 degrees. Temperatures tonight will drop into the teens and it’ll stay very cold tomorrow, but winds will lighten up considerably.
