2:55 PM | Temperature has reached a record-tying 99 degrees at Philly Airport; storms can hit any time after 3PM in the N and W suburbs

Discussion

The temperature has reached a record-tying 99 degrees at Philly Intl Airport and is currently 95 degrees in Central Park New York City. Meanwhile, a line of powerful thunderstorms currently runs from just north of New York City southwestward to around Lancaster, PA and this line is closing in on the New York City and Philadelphia metro regions from the northwest. These storms can move into the N and W suburbs of these metro regions any time after 3PM as they are moving rather quickly. The threat for severe weather will continue for the next several hours up and down the I-95 corridor from DC to Philly to New York City.
