The weather has turned cool and our first extended taste of autumn that began on Sunday following a cold frontal passage will continue right into mid-week. Meanwhile, the Phillies remain hot in the second half of the season, but is it too late? After a pleasantly cool afternoon with highs in the mid 70's along with a cool breeze, it should be quite cool tonight for the Phils game in South Philly. In fact, by late tonight temperatures could actually bottom out in the upper 40's in many suburban locations. High temperatures tomorrow will again hold in the mid 70’s, but will then return to the 80 degree mark by Wednesday afternoon. The normal high temperature on this date at Philly Int'l Airport is 81 degrees so we’ll be below normal until mid-week. As far as precipitation is concerned, it looks rain-free for quite awhile - a good week to stain the deck or resurface the driveway. Finally, a recap from the weekend, there were some Mid-Atlantic severe weather reports with the frontal passage late Saturday including a couple of tornadoes reported in and around the New York City metro region (Queens, Brooklyn), winds gusts of 58 mph in northern Virginia (Arlington, Chantilly), a funnel cloud observed in Lancaster County, PA, and a scattering of downed trees up and down the I-95 corridor.
