Discussion

The Nor’easter that affected our weather yesterday and last night has moved to just off the Massachusetts coastline and yet it'll still create some windy and chilly conditions around here, but there should also be increasing amounts of sunshine. Yesterday's snow underperformed in the Philly metro region as the storm shifted to the east slightly more than expected with accumulations ranging from a trace in many western suburbs to 2 inches in Bucks County (Lower Makefield). Significant snow did accumulate yesterday from the Nor'easter across much of New Jersey (e.g., 4" Toms River, 3" Atlantic City, 13" Freehold), New York and especially in Connecticut where a foot of snow was recorded. Central Park, NY received 4.7 inches of snow, most ever for the date and earliest 4" snowstorm ever, and there were downright blizzard-like conditions last night in New York City with the heavy snow and high winds.

Improvement around here continues on Friday, and the weekend and early part of next week look very nice; especially, when compared to the weather we’ve experienced during the past couple of weeks. Temperatures on both weekend days should approach or even surpass the 60 degree mark and Monday should see temperatures well up in the 60's. A strong cold front will cool us down again by the middle of next week.
