Accumulating snow will continue into the early afternoon hours in the northern and western suburbs (Bucks County, Montgomery County and northern Chester County), but it will then become more intermittent, and it can be mixed with rain at times. Temperatures will hold pretty steady in the low-to-mid 30’s during the afternoon hours and roads will continue to be slick in spots, but they may actually improve somewhat over the next few hours. Accumulations in the suburbs will generally end up in the 1-3 inch range, but there can be isolated higher amounts. Finally, a few suburban schools are likely to close early due to the weather conditions.

Meanwhile, in the city of Philadelphia, Delaware County and all points to the south and east, mixed precipitation or plain rain will continue this afternoon with little or no accumulation expected. All areas throughout the Philly metro region will fall well below freezing tonight and slick spots are likely to be the result even after the precipitation winds down later today. Looking ahead, the next several days look storm-free. Elsewhere, this storm has been just plain rain in and around the Washington, DC region, but New York City has received a mixed bag of snow and rain so far and the precipitation will change to primarily snow there with small accumulations later today and early tonight.
