Discussion

A backdoor cold front slipped through the region yesterday and an ocean flow of air has become well-established with low-level E-NE winds. This flow of air will keep temperatures way down today compared to normal for this time of year in what will likely turn out to be the coolest day of the week. Tomorrow promises to be somewhat unsettled with slightly warmer afternoon temperatures and a couple of afternoon showers and thunderstorms likely. The timing might be perfect for another nice weekend in the Mid-Atlantic region as high pressure looks like it will build into the area generating plenty of sunshine and rather comfortable temperatures and humidity levels.
