Central Park has already received 9.68 inches of rain this month and considerably more rainfall is likely as our unsettled weather pattern continues. In fact, more heavy showers and thunderstorms are likely for later today and tonight and again later Sunday and Sunday night. Today’s activity will be generated by a stalled out frontal system to our south that will be the focus for a redevelopment of showers and thunderstorms, and then a strong cold front will move through late Sunday night and early Monday and that will set off more heavy showers and thunderstorms. Tomorrow actually looks like a pretty decent day in between these frontal systems; however, a shower or thunderstorm cannot be ruled out. Looking ahead, there are continuing signs that a tropical storm or hurricane could be nearing the southeast US coast in about week or so - stay tuned on that.
