Discussion

High pressure has moved into the region following yesterday’s strong cold frontal passage. This high will control our weather right into mid-week an then the focus shifts to the southeast US coast. Last week we discussed the potential threat for a tropical system to affect the southeast US late this week for the first time this hurricane season and now all eyes are focused on Hurricane Irene which will head towards the east coast of Florida by around Friday, and then it could very well take a track right along the east coast. If this track does occur, heavy rain will could fall here later Saturday or Sunday.
