Discussion

Much cooler air moved into the region overnight following the passage of a strong cold frontal system during the day on Thursday. That front was not accompanied by much rainfall, but north winds behind it brought in considerably cooler air in the overnight hours. Large Canadian high pressure will now take control of our weather for the next several days. It should be good weather this weekend for the Nationals and Orioles games as well as for the Redskins home game on Sunday afternoon. Temperatures will generally be in the 60’s during the next few days and lows at night could fall once again into the 40’s in many locations. As the high pressure system slowly moves to a position just off the east coast early next week our temperatures will gradually rise to more seasonal values. The normal high temperature for this time of year is 80 degrees and the normal low is 63 degrees so we’ll be quite a bit below normal for the next few days.
