Discussion

A significant rain event is in store for the region Tuesday night and Wednesday and it'll be sandwiched between mild weather today and tomorrow and cold weather on Thursday and Friday. Low pressure will develop along a frontal system that will move into the Mid-Atlantic today, but it will generate nothing more than a shower or two into tomorrow night. At that time, however, low pressure will develop along the front and it will spread rain our way late Tuesday night and Wednesday and some of that rain can be heavy at times. Following that storm, much colder air returns for Thursday and Friday, and afternoon temperatures will likely stay in the 40’s for much of the time on those days. Then, similar to this past weekend, a warming trend will kick in by the weekend and continue into early next week.
