8:30 AM | Some more freezing drizzle, but generally now in wind down mode

Paul Dorian

Discussion

Precipitation, mainly in the form of freezing drizzle, will wind down over the next few hours, but roads continue to be slick as temperatures hover at or below freezing in most locations. Accumulating snow overnight ranged from about half an inch to as much as two inches before a changeover occurred to sleet and freezing rain. Conditions will improve somewhat this afternoon after the precipitation ends and temperatures edge to just above freezing, but refreezing will be possible tonight on untreated road surfaces as temperatures drop back to the 20’s. Believe it or not, temperatures could approach 60 degrees by Monday afternoon and it’ll stay relatively mild for much of the week, but there are continuing signs that February may see a return to colder weather.
