Discussion

Monsoonal moisture will play a role again in our weather for today and tonight with the threat for more showers and storms and some of the rainfall can be heavy at times. Then there will be a transition to an overall drier pattern during the mid-week and, as a result, temperatures will head back well up in the 90’s for that time period. The cause of the drier weather pattern will be a shift westward of the Great Plains high pressure ridge which will, in turn, act to cutoff the moisture-laden sub-tropical air from reaching the Colorado Rockies region.
