Discussion

High pressure will remain established over the state and, in fact, will spread out to the east and west across the southern US. The remains of Isaac will pass by well to our east today heading northward through the Missouri Valley before turning eastward this weekend in the Ohio Valley. Some moisture may actually move into the region late this weekend and early next week from the Pacific tropical system (Ileana) and that will increase our chances for showers and thunderstorms at that time. Temperatures remain quite hot today, but will trend downward this weekend into early next week.
