The combination of the remains of Isaac and a slow-moving frontal system will produce occasional heavy rain throughout the Mid-Atlantic region from today into Thursday. This front will allow for low pressure systems to ride along it and Isaac’s remains have moistened the atmosphere quite impressively - and all of this is rather slow-moving. While much of the time will be rain-free, heavy showers and thunderstorms can occur at just about any time and when all is said and done by Thursday evening, at least 2-4 inches of rain is likely to have fallen on much of the region between DC and New York. The combination of clouds and occasional rain will help to keep temperatures down compared to the last few days.
