Discussion

The flow in the upper atmosphere is still quite strong, but has relaxed some since yesterday at which time some powerful wind gusts took place throughout the Rocky Mountain region. A strong upper level low will spin around near the Great Lakes region today and this will leave us in a dry, northwesterly flow of air. A warming trend will begin on Friday with highs back in the 70’s and the warmer weather will continue into the weekend. Viewing conditions look quite favorable this weekend for the Orionid meteor shower which peaks in the pre-dawn hours early Sunday morning.
