Discussion

Low pressure continues to spin off the east coast over the western Atlantic, but it will not directly affect the Mid-Atlantic region. Over the next couple of days that ocean low will head out into the open Atlantic and high pressure will continue to maintain control of this region’s weather. A strong Arctic cold front will then swing through by the upcoming weekend, and temperatures will be much lower on Saturday behind the frontal passage as compared to Friday while still ahead of the front. After a cold weekend, temperatures will moderate slightly early next week only to be followed by more cold air returning to the region around the middle of next week, and there may be a coastal storm to deal with accompanying that next cold air outbreak.
