Discussion

Low pressure will head northeast today towards the western Atlantic Ocean region just off the Mid-Atlantic coastline and it should undergo some late day and early evening intensification as colder air pushes in from the northwest. Precipitation will fall today in the far northern suburbs as a mix of rain and snow and it can even accumulate up there from a trace to an inch or two, but little or no accumulation is expected in the District and immediate suburbs. The storm pulls away this evening and temperatures will drop to the 20’s after reaching daytime highs near 40 degrees. The rest of the week looks to be quite cold and dry with some sunshine each day.
