High pressure is dominating the weather scene today in the northeastern part of the country and will do so into the weekend. Low pressure will pass to the south late Saturday into Sunday, but its associated shower activity will likely stay southwest of here. A strong upper level trough and cold front will approach the region by the middle of next week.
