Discussion

High pressure will lose control of our weather later today as a frontal system closes in on the Mid-Atlantic region. This frontal system will bring us much-needed rainfall with an increasing chance for showers and thunderstorms from later this afternoon through tonight and then the likelihood of widespread showers and thunderstorms on Thursday. Following the front, cooler and less humid air will arrive on Friday and will last through the weekend. The weekend is looking somewhat questionable, however, as a Midwestern disturbance could cause showers around here later Saturday and especially during the day on Sunday.
