Discussion

A strong cold front arrives today and it will usher in the coldest air of the season so far for the weekend and the early part of next week. In fact, overnight low temperatures early Sunday morning and again early Monday morning should fall near or below the freezing mark in many suburban locations to the north and west of the big cities along Route I-95. After this early season preview of winter, temperatures should rebound quite nicely by the middle part of next week with increasingly strong southwesterly winds. By late next week, there are signs that the western Gulf of Mexico might become active again and tropical rains could eventually head northeast from there towards the northeastern US.
