Discussion

A weak low pressure system will slide to our southeast today and it should throw back enough moisture into our region to produce a little light snow or rain during the evening hours; especially, to the south and east of NYC (e.g., Long Island). It’ll get milder tomorrow and Wednesday ahead of a stronger storm system that will cause rain here during the Wednesday PM hours into early Thursday and some of this rain will be heavy. Colder air starts to move into the East by Friday and this will be associated with a major change to the overall temperature pattern. Our recent mild stretch is about to end as more and more sustained cold will be the rule from mid-month on.
