Discussion

High pressure will build into the region today and sunshine should return along with rather pleasant conditions. More sunshine is likely on Friday and high temperatures should reach the low 70’s. A cold front will then approach the region on Saturday and there can be showers and thunderstorms associated with that frontal passage during the afternoon hours. By Sunday, a strong storm will be gathering strength in the Southeast US and this will likely bring us significant rainfall on Sunday into Monday. In fact, it is possible that the entire region will get a couple inches of rain between Saturday morning and Monday morning – the first soaking rain in weeks in this area. This strong storm will ride up the east coast late Sunday and Monday and will flood the Northeast US with chilly air by early next week and the higher elevations from Pennsylvania north and east could actually see some snow out of this event.
