Discussion

High pressure will continue to dominate the scene around here for today with plenty of sunshine and moderately chilly conditions. That high will begin to lose its influence on our weather this weekend and an active weather pattern will get underway with the potential for multiple storms to deal with next week. First, a strong low pressure system situated over the Central Plains on Saturday will move northeastward towards the Great Lakes and it will spread some light rain into our region late Saturday night and the rain threat from that system will continue on Sunday and Monday. There is an outside chance that it'll be just cold enough late Saturday night for a little freezing rain or sleet at the onset in locations well to the N and W of Philly. Another storm will form near the coast by Tuesday spreading more rain into the area and it could get cold enough for a changeover to snow later Tuesday night/early Wednesday as that storms pulls away to our northeast while intensifying. Yet another storm may have to be dealt with late next week, and that storm is likely to flood the region with cold air by next weekend which is likely to stick around through Christmas Day.
