A major early spring snowstorm will continue today across the southern Rockies and 6-12 inches of total snowfall accumulation is likely by early tonight. Winds will be quite strong today gusting past 40 mph and this will cause blowing and drifting generating dangerous road conditions. The snow winds down this evening, but temperatures will drop to bitter cold levels by tomorrow morning at or just below the 10 degree mark. The second half of the week will begin a dramatic warm up which will ultimately see temperatures climb back to the 60 degree mark for afternoon highs this coming weekend.
