Discussion

Roy Halladay suffered last night in Chicago in their excessive heat and humidity and that same air mass is headed our way. While it’ll be hot and humid here today and tomorrow, the worst of the blistering heat and humidity will expand into the Mid-Atlantic region from the Midwest on Thursday and last through Saturday. An isolated thunderstorm cannot be ruled out during each of those brutally hot late-week days, but most of the time will be rain-free. A break in the scorching heat may occur on Sunday as a “back-door” front sneaks down the east coast from New England. That potential frontal passage could reduce our highs back to the more reasonable lower 90’s by Sunday, but before that happens, 100 degrees is possible on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
