Discussion

High pressure will control our weather into the weekend, but then it shifts off the coast and pumps in more humid air into the Mid-Atlantic from the southwest. At the same time, low pressure and its associated frontal systems will head eastward from the Ohio Valley and this combination will cause unsettled weather here Saturday through Monday. The threat exists for some shower and thunderstorm activity on both weekend days and also on Labor Day (Monday). In fact, some of the rain can come down hard on Sunday night or Monday as a cool front approaches from the west. This front will usher in cooler air by Tuesday of next week and we’ll have our first taste of fall.
