Discussion

Our significant rain event that began on Monday will change in nature today from yesterday’s steady, soaking, chilly rain to one with occasional showers and thunderstorms and warmer conditions. The overall result will be quite similar, however, in that heavy rain can fall at just about any time and flooding will continue to be a concern. Widespread fog is a strong possibility later tonight and that fog could very well linger into tomorrow. Once the moisture from the remains of Tropical Storm Lee finally pulls out of the Mid-Atlantic region later this week, there will be so much humidity left behind that a lingering shower or thunderstorm will still be possible on Friday, Saturday and Sunday although the vast majority of the weekend should be rain-free.
