Discussion

High pressure off of the east coast will pump in very hot and humid air over the next couple of days, but a cool front will gradually transition us to more comfortable weather by Friday and for the weekend. While today should be rain-free, showers and thunderstorms will likely accompany the arrival of the frontal system later tomorrow and tomorrow night. The front then stalls just to our south on Thursday so there is still going to be a threat for showers and thunderstorms as a wave of low pressure rides along this boundary zone. The threat for rain from the stalled out front could even last into Friday but, for now, the weekend looks like it'll be quite comfortable with highs generally in the mid 80's.
