Discussion
The first widespread snow event since earlier this fall continues today as a strong storm pulls out the Rockies and into the central Plains. Winds will pick up in intensity and come out of the north at up to 30 mph or so causing plenty of blowing and drifting. Total snowfall accumulations will likely end up in the 3-6 inch range in and around the Denver metro region by the end of the day. Very cold conditions are expected for tonight as snow cover and partially clearing skies will allow temperatures to drop to near or just below 10 degrees by tomorrow morning. Modification in temperatures will take place during the latter part of the week.
