Discussion

A backdoor cold front has passed through the region and this will cause some big changes in the temperature department from today through the next couple of days as an ocean flow of air gets firmly established in the region consisting of low-level E-NE winds. Today will continue to remain somewhat on the unsettled side with the threat for more showers and maybe even a thunderstorm, but the main story weather-wise will be the cooler temperatures and an easterly flow of low-level air. Thursday will remain on the cool side despite some sunshine as the ocean flow of air will continue in the region. Friday will bring more instability to the region with afternoon showers and thunderstorms possible once again. Looking ahead, high pressure could very well generate another nice weekend in the Mid-Atlantic region with the return of sunshine and pleasant temperature and humidity levels. It’ll likely turn much warmer again early next week.
