Discussion
Extreme heat and humidity will return to the region today and it will last right into the early part of next week. Temperatures today soar to 100 degrees, perhaps even a record-breaker (101 degrees from 1934), but perhaps the more noticeable change in the weather will be the humidity as yesterday still featured some rather moderate levels, but that changes dramatically this morning. A frontal boundary zone will stay close enough in proximity this weekend to give us the chance for a daily thunderstorm. This heat wave will grip much of the eastern third of the country this weekend from the Mid-Atlantic on southward to the Gulf coast.
