Discussion

Heat and humidity will return to the region today and it will last right into the early part of next week. Temperatures today should head up into the 90’s, but perhaps the more noticeable change in the weather will be the humidity as yesterday still featured some rather moderate levels, but that changes dramatically this morning. A frontal boundary zone will stay close enough in proximity this weekend to give us the chance for a daily thunderstorm. The worst of this current heat wave, the second of the young summer season so far, will grip sections just to our south from around the DC metro region southward to the Gulf coast. In fact, the DC metro region could reach triple digits each of the next three days.
